The African Water and Sanitation Association is firmly committed to a new dynamic, driven by the urgency of the challenges facing our continent in terms of access to drinking water and sanitation. These challenges are numerous: climate change, demographic growth, rapid urbanization, weak infrastructures, territorial disparities... all of which require a structured, coherent and ambitious response.
Our commitment is clear: to make AfWASA a benchmark player at the service of water and sanitation utilities, public decision-makers, technical and financial partners, and communities. Water and sanitation are fundamental human rights. As such, we have a collective responsibility to accelerate efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: to ensure access to safe, affordable and sustainable water and sanitation for all.
