The Strategic Council
It is the core of the Strategic and Technological Council. It is made up of 25 members from the various categories of members (active members, affiliate members and individual members) of the Association and from the 5 regions of Africa, with particular attention paid to gender representation. Members belonging to an AfWASA member entity will have received prior authorisation from the head of their structure. The Strategic Council is headed by a chairman appointed by the Executive Committee, on the basis of specific criteria. The term of office of the Strategic Council is 2 years, renewable once.
The Strategic Advisory Board's missions
The AfWASA Strategic Council is responsible for
- Providing advice to the Executive Committee on the Association's strategic issues as requested by the latter
- Support the implementation of the AAEA's strategic plan
- Provide appropriate guidance to the Executive Board in achieving its objectives
- Stimulate and approve the creation of Specialist Groups and promote their activities, as well as any specific working groups that may be set up
- Approve the activities of Specialist Groups or any other working groups created within the AAEA
- To coordinate the activities of existing professional networks
- Encourage and identify task forces.
